Decades before Photoshop was available, American artist Sandy Skoglund started creating surrealist images by building incredibly elaborate sets, a process which took months to complete. Her works are characterized by an overwhelming amount of one object and either bright, contrasting colors or a monochromatic color scheme.

Saw this picture on imgur and just had to post it here, because this is without a doubt, one of the most badass women alive. Meet Katrina Hodge, a corporal in the British Army and Miss England 2009. According to Wikipedia, she enlisted back in 2004 after her brother challenged her to and earned the nickname “Combat Barbie” after showing up at her assigned unit wearing false eyelashes, kitten heels (whatever those are) and carry a pink suitcase. In 2005 her unit, the Royal Anglian Regiment, was deployed to Iraq, where she saved the lives of her comrades from a prisoner by wrestling not one, but two rifles from him and then knocking his ass out with her bare hands.

With her bare hands.

Then in 2009, she decided to compete in the Miss England competition to destroy stereotypes about women in the military. She didn’t win (she placed runner-up), but still became Miss England after the woman who did got into a fight and gave up the crown. While Miss England, Hodge convinced the people running the competition to ditch the bikini contest, because she felt that it was more important to be a role model than looking good in a bikini.

In 2010, she handed over the crown and returned to military service, being deployed to Afghanistan.

This woman is both a BAMF and a HBIC. Damn.

  I have scar on my chin from when I was little like 3 years old and my mom said I could watch a movie again. I was so happy I jumped into  the air and spined in the air.  I was wearing socks and I had slipped and fell on my chin which lead a trip to the hospital and I had to get stitches on my chin.

Description: SCP-1415 and SCP-1413 brought in for routine mortality testing. Puncture wounds applied to SCP-1413’s abdominal area, subject allowed to bleed out. Immediately upon termination of SCP-1413, SCP-1415 appeared to have entered an agitated state. Physical changes observed in SCP-1415 include a change in the hair color and eye color to a pure white, and a darkening of the skin to a deep gray.  Sharp spike in electromagnetic radiation detected, source later confirmed to be SCP-1415. Upon entering its agitated state, subject began to speak in an indecipherably babble, causing all personnel within a 10 m radius of SCP-1415 immediately fall to the floor, screaming in horror and clutching their heads. SCP-1415 then retrieved two pens dropped by fallen researchers and proceeded to [DATA EXPUNGED]

Oh man, I really like this! I love how it’s set up like a security camera too, like it could be a on file picture from the entry and everything….just ahhhhhh
